Summary
From childhood, Lu Guang was raised to follow in his father’s footsteps and work for his organization, keeping the timeline in check. Soon after starting work, he finds himself with a key role in one of the largest missions the organization has had in years; a mission that involves returning to the past to collect evidence against a rogue time traveler in an attempt to bring him to justice and ensure the safety of the timeline. But Lu Guang discovers more in the past than what he was sent to uncover, and in the process, starts to lose himself and his purpose.

When Lu Guang's father requests that he relearn piano in a short period to perform for upcoming dinner guests, the last thing Lu Guang expected was to end up having Liu Xiao tutoring him after cornering him in a music room late after classes.
As their sessions go by, however, Lu Guang feels himself more and more drawn to the mysterious boy and inevitably develops a bit of a crush on him. When Liu Xiao's family shows up for dinner, Lu Guang can't help but feel much more nervous than he had been prior.

Despite being his best friend, roommate, and business partner, there was surprisingly little that Cheng Xiaoshi really knew about Lu Guang.
His roommate rarely shared anything about his past life. In fact, to-date, all that Cheng Xiaoshi had been able to pry out of him was that he was:
1. An only child
2. Allergic to bananasCheng Xiaoshi was still unsure if that second one was an actual allergy, or just one of those things Lu Guang said because he didn’t enjoy the fruit's texture.
He was unsure about a lot of things about Lu Guang. It frustrated him.
The younger boy was decidedly a closed book. Conversations about their childhoods always circled back to Cheng Xiaoshi, so did ones about their parents, friends, and dating lives before they met each other. Cheng Xiaoshi had been able to shrug it off before, but the longer they knew each other the more it felt like Lu Guang was keeping secrets.
He seemed particularly nervous about the topic of romance.

He stared at his friend in horror, he had failed. Again. He held the limp body close to him, looking at the now now lifeless eyes. "What went wrong?" He thought at that moment, looking no where. It had happened before and yet, why did he react like this? The smell of blood filled the air as he looked at his crimson stained hands. His hands were still trembling, he didn't know why at this point. He was in a daze, wondering. Before he started speaking
"I'm sorry" He whispered quivering, his hands trembling. He knew that a other couldn't hear but still acted like he was. He thought if he changed a few things it would have turned out alright. He stared at his right hand, watching the minutes pass. Then, he took a photo out of his pocket. "I'll save you this time, no matter the cost." And in that moment he clapped his hands, disappearing.

Summary
Through the sound of the rain, a melody reached his ears, delicate and haunting. A voice, pure and ethereal, rose and fell with a grace that made the night itself seem to hold its breath.
Lu Guang followed the sound, each note drawing him closer, pulling him away from the comfort of his home but to the opera mansion like a moth to a flame.
There, beneath the shelter of the mansion’s roof, was a crouched figure cloaked in shadows, as he traced his slender finger in the mud while the other hand hugged his knees to his chest. He sang with a sorrowful beauty, each word a brushstroke of melancholy that painted the night in hues of longing and regret.
The white haired stood in the middle of the street, afraid to move, afraid to break the spell. The song wove around him, wrapping him in a cocoon of bittersweet emotion. Memories of regret and family lost to tragedy flashed through his mind. He could feel the pain in his voice, a mirror to his own heartache, yet it was also laced with an undeniable hope, a fragile promise that resonated deep within him.
Just as the final notes faded into the night, his voice lingering in the air like a sigh, their eyes met.
