There is a man chained to Acacius's bed, and really, Acacius wants nothing more than to turn around and walk away, ideally while slamming the door and stabbing an emperor or two on his way out, but he can't.

Summary
Ten years after Caracalla and Geta were dethroned and disappeared, Marcus Acacius and Lucilla are driven out of Rome into Barbaricum where they find that Geta is very much alive. He is a changed man and Acacius and Lucilla plot as to how they might use him to help Lucius reclaim control of Rome as they learn about him and adjust to living in a barbarian land. But Geta has different priorities and desires now.
Alternate universe, big canon divergence, wherein Geta, Acacius, and Lucilla survived, while Caracalla died. Lucius and Macrinus survived, too, and continue to fight for control of Rome.
Chapter 26 is up! Geta thinks about the two people he loves most.

Lucius did not feel acomplished, as he killed Macrinus. It did not satisfy his need for revenge or closed the wound his mothers death left in his heart. It did not even make him feel like himslef again. He was an outisder, a poor farmer from Numidia and suddenly given a crown of gold and made romes emperor. But he needed people around him, he could trust and his firt thaught went to his mothers family, but he knew they would all betray him, if it benifited them.
He searched everywhere for a person, that would want the best for rome and for himself and after restless weeks of dealing with his useless uncle, Annius, he finaly found who he was searching for. His Aunt Vibia and her husband, who once tried to murder commodus, but failed and now lived in exile, unable to return to rome, if not granted by the emperor himself. Burrus, as they called the traitor, was once a great commander and trustworthy leader, as his men described him. Lucius knew both his uncle Burrus and his true father Maxius dispised and planned on killing Commodus, but only one of the succseeded. Now he needed to find him and bring him and his family back to rome, so he could have a faithful and smart man at his side, whith ehom he could rule rome.
