Summary
Late-bloomer college student Evie Ingellvar (25) is banking on the money selling her eggs at a high-end fertility clinic to pay her tuition and to keep a roof over her and Franny’s (7) heads for the next few years. This single mom isn’t looking for romance or anything to be handed to her.
Emmrich (early 50’s) is a successful doctor, fresh out of an amicable divorce (Johanna was always more of a friend than wife) looking to expand his family through surrogacy to give his young son Manfred (4) a playmate.
In an internal fuck-up of eye-watering lawsuit proportions Jane-the-Virgin-style, Evie ends up not only donating her eggs but also being artificially inseminated by Emmrich’s sample.
All I can imagine, once they both get past the shock and horror, is Emmrich being the doting, supportive partner Evie never asked for but secretly longed for. Like he keeps calling/texting her asking if she needs anything, if she is taking the vitamins he had delivered to her house, and how she’s feeling.

TimmyJaybird's summary:
Former Professor Emmrich Volkarin had spent years settled into a quiet life running a small, quint flower shop in Nevarra. He expected that any excitement was far behind him.
Enter, Lucanis Dellamorte. Professional assassin. Antivan Crow. A possessed man.
A possible bad decision to take in Lucanis after an assassination goes slightly off kilter, and suddenly Emmrich finds his life is full of far more excitement than he'd ever had. But maybe, for the man who had begun to experience the world through a cloudy window of fascination but never truly partaking, the excitement would remind him what it was like to truly be alive again.

A spark.
That’s what Emmrich had decided to call it, when he had discovered that there was something decidedly different in the skeletal android’s AI programming. M4N-FR3D was a prototype model that had been shelved years ago, after a very nasty falling out with a former colleague led him to abandon the project. He didn’t think he would ever dig it out of storage, and yet there he was, in his engineering classroom and lab, tinkering with the refurbished android like he was a young and hopeful man again.
News of Johanna Hezenkoss’ disappearance had reignited his interest in the pet project they had once shared. ‘Manfred,’ Emmrich had jokingly referred to the android, and Johanna had only rolled her eyes and told him to stop being so childish and fanciful. The first of many a disagreement over the entire project.
Or maybe not a spark… maybe… a wisp?

“Kagome, go home!” Inuyasha shouted as his hand reached out and shoved her hard, pushing her over the edge and into the well.
-
Kagome screamed as darkness swallowed her. She felt the familiar pull as she was dragged inside the well, but that is where the familiarity ended. There was no otherworldly light as she traveled between times, no glow of magic, and no familiar roof of the shrine on the other side. Instead a deep, dense fog encompassed her as she fell down down down down down…

Summary
“I’m not, strictly speaking, looking to be your wife.”
Emmrich again faltered, hands folding in front of himself. He dithered. He searched for words. Well-spoken since childhood, he was quite unused to feeling so wrong-footed. He suspected it was something he would become well acquainted with in the immediate future.
“What,” he said eventually, “are you…looking for?”
“A friend,” Sigrid replied. Again in that simple, earnest and succinct way. “I’d like to be your friend, Emmrich.”
Something in Emmrich’s chest, utterly despite himself, swelled.
“Yes,” he murmured. “I would…like that very much, Sigrid.”
Sigrid smiled and lifted her satchel over her head. “Great. Then let’s get married.”Some years ago, Emmrich Volkarin met his wife, married her, and fell in love with her. In that order.
In 9:50 Dragon, Varric Tethras finds himself in a backwater of Nevarra, where he enlists the help of a secretive necromancer on a rainy night. These two events are not unrelated.
Not even the dead keep their secrets forever. -

Summary
The first word Emmrich learnt to read was Johanna.
His eyes followed the sharp edges of each letter, cutting across his right wrist, staking some wordless claim, the ink as dark as blood. Each edge was distinct from the other, downward strokes hard and impressive, straightforward. Emmrich traced each letter — wrote it out, charcoal on paper, on leaves, fingers in the dirt, until they were identical to his skin, until he knew Johanna by heart.
Then a second name came after, months later, much more surprising than the first.
On his left wrist, all curving swirls, rounded letters, and sweeping lines, much more difficult for his young eyes to follow. The H molded into the A, pressed even closer to the N, as if written in a hurry, ink so light, the word untethered to its writer. Mummy had to help him decipher it, holding him close, her long dark hair plaited, the tips of it tickling his nose. She laughed, bright and tinkling — “Your soulmate has terrible handwriting, my love,” — before settling on Thana. Death.
—
Or, one Emmrich Volkarin, bearer of two soul marks, and a lifetime's exploration of the different faces of love and heartbreak.

Summary
Emmrich dropped the folders he had been holding, the papers scattering to the floor. He flushed, and quickly shut the door behind him, despite the fact that there was no danger of anybody else seeing what lay beyond.
Rook was lying on his stomach over Emmrich’s desk, his chest pressing against the wooden surface of it, and his legs dangling over the edge, toes barely reaching the floor. He was completely naked, the only scrap of fabric on him being the soft, lilac rope that bound him.
