He missed his shitty roommates.

He did not feel compassion.

Nor did he feel fear.
Another reason he was bored, even though a villain was holding him at gunpoint and all the previous customers were huddled in corners, scared shitless.

“Yeah, that’s right. It’s me again, you animal fuck- fucker.” He halted where he was, power flickering out. “Wait, that came out wrong.”
“I don’t—!” Rey cried in horror.
Techno could only dip his head to his palm, wondering how he accidentally picked up an unwanted idiot of a sidekick when he only went outside like twice a month.

Tommy was forgotten by the man who made him a weapon. Tubbo escaped a lab and lost someone he loved. Fundy’s mother left one day and never came back.
No one ever told them it was possible for things to get better. No one ever showed them a brighter future. No one ever taught them what it meant to be loved and wanted and cared for. L’Manberg never allowed for such.
Maybe, it’s time to change that story.
