Summary
Patroclus of Pythia had faced a lot in the month. He was exiled by Queen Thetis and when he was being sent away into the woods with Odysseus, a man whom he always looked up to and admired, he had learned that Odysseus was meant to take his heart back to the Queen. Being sympathetic to Patroclus, and to not break his character of devotion to the Queen, Odysseus knocked him out and took the heart of a nearby deer, but when he went back to gather Patroclus to bring him somewhere safe, a boar had taken hold of Patroclus and dragged him further into the woods at a speed that Odysseus couldn't match.
Where the boar would take Patroclus is to the kingdom of Opus, a kingdom with no heir. The King and Queen lost their son years ago, and the King does not take impersonators of their deceased son lightly.

Achilles moves with his family suddenly after the incident with no word from Achilles, Patroclus believes it’s his fault that Achilles moved away because of his actions. Years pass between the two boys with no contact and they forget about eachother. But by the miracles of the twelve Gods they end up at the same college.

Now eighteen, and eligible for marriage, suitors begin visiting the grand walls of Opus to have a chance to catch a look at the prince, and possibly gain his hand. Menoetius gives his son the leave to choose his husband, but it does not mean he will make it easy for anyone to just whisk him away. So he plucks a few pages out of books of older traditions and revives "Athlos" — a series of games that had once been held in the honour of omegas, to allow them to see and select the best of the alphas for themselves.
