While exceptions exist, mainly in the form of people who are born with their quirks, manifestations after the age of 4 are extremely rare. Extremely rare, however, doesn't mean non-existent.

    Izuku manifests a quirk of technopathy, dies, returns as an AI, witnesses the death of his mother, and discovers that All Might is a horrible person. All this in just two days.
    Now, trapped in a computer, the only way for Izuku to explore the outside world is through cameras and other means of technology.
    He's not about to let this stop him though. Izuku is not someone to let opportunities pass. If he can't be a pro hero, he'll be another kind of hero.
    It doesn't matter that people call him a Vigilante.
    It doesn't matter that the HPSC call him a villain.

    The wall scrapes his back on the way down. He’s always hated Aldera’s walls. They’re rough, unforgiving. They tear at his skin when the kids push him into them. He hates the hallways too. He hates his old charred, broken desk, and he hates the new spotless one. Hates the teachers, the students, and the sound of the goddamn bell.

    And he hates that the only person he ever wanted to take with him when he left this place—wants nothing to do with him.

    “I hate you,” he whispers.

    Katsuki doesn’t move. Doesn’t react. His eyes stay locked and dead, like Izuku isn’t even there.

    Maybe he didn’t hear.

    ‘I hate you,’ he signs with shaking hands.

    Still nothing.

    Izuku looks down, away from those unfamiliar eyes, to the hand he held three weeks ago in the rain.

    “I fucking hate you so much,” he whispers one last time, too soft for Katsuki to hear.

    It wasn’t meant for him anyway.

    He’s saying it for himself.

    Maybe if he says it enough, it’ll stop being a lie.

    After having the world turn its back on him for being quirkless and tragically losing his mother. Who could blame him for getting a bit of a thrill out of fighting back and almost dying sacrificing himself in a way? Who could also blame him for getting a thrill out of killing those who deserved it?

    Izuku Midoriya takes to the streets to fight off crime because it gives him a thrill fighting someone stronger than him with the possibility of dying. But after snapping trying to take down the slime villain, he finds a new thrill in killing and being one of the most well known villains.
