Summary
Miriam only ever wanted two things: freedom for her people and reunion with her little brother. Romance never crossed her mind. But when fate brings her to Midian, she finds the freedom she craved, the brother she lost, and the love she never knew she needed.
Or, "The Prince of Egypt but with lesbians." Canon-divergent, Miriam/Tzipporah, with a surprising number of allusions to traditional Torah commentary and midrash. -

Summary
Aziraphale grimaced at the looping script and shoved it back at [Crowley]. “That’s where I’m headed.”
The parchment sizzled to ash in Crowley’s palm. “That’s not all I know. That Maharal fellow’s on his way out. Er, whatsisface—Rabbi Loew?”
“Then what are you doing here?” Aziraphale blurted, bewildered at Crowley’s presence. Upstanding religious leaders merited monitoring, but rarely by the other side. “I’m meant to…” He bit his tongue, wondering how much he ought to censor. “Follow up on an accomplishment he’s rumored to have, er, accomplished. See to it there’s no unfinished business surrounding…that.”
“What am I doing here?” Crowley snapped, growing agitated. “To find out how he bloody well did it, preferably before the breath leaves his body. D’you think I like watching humans die?”

Summary
Midrash Aggada is a traditional method of exploring scripture drawn from the Jewish tradition--rabbinic and Talmudic. A light, rather flip definition might be "Sacred fanfic told using scriptural characters and situations to explore theological premises." Storytelling with theological whup-ass potency.
As I have said before, I've tried to stay away from too much theology and doctrine in this. But on Christmas Day, as the last section before heading toward New Years, it seems fair and reasonable to write this as another aside, and let Sherlock the atheist and Mycroft the theist have a discussion from the heart of their own individual uncertainties.
It's a Christmas midrash about Christmas midrash, as Mike tries to explain about believing the unbelievable, and having faith in what you can only imagine.
On any given day I'm both Sherlock and Mycroft in this argument. I quite enjoyed writing Sherlock's furious and defiant disbelief.

"Afoot Sisera fled to the tent of Yael Hever's wife, for there was peace between King Yavin of Hatzor and the House of Hever the Kanite.
And Yael went to greet Sisera and told him: Here, my lord, come to me; fear not. And he turned into her tent and she covered him with a blanket.
[...]
And Yael Hever's wife took a tent's stake and a hammer in her hand and quietly went to him, and she struck the stake through his temple all the way to the ground; and he had been asleep and exhausted, and so died."
