Summary
What if Darrow's Triumph in Agea didn't go as planned?
A reimagining of the end of Golden Son and the beginning of the Solar War. This time it is Gold against Gold, Rim and Mars united against the Core. It begins nine months after the Lion's Rain and follows as the war spreads to Earth, Luna and Ilium, Darrow at its heart.
On Mars, Mustang slowly realises Eo's dream while watching the man she loves turn into a battle-hardened warlord.
The Jackal, now a pariah after his scheme failed, conspires in exile while Roque commands the Sword Armada against Revus and most of the Rim over the Jovian moons.
Nero and Romulus vigil near Luna, daring the Ash Lord and Octavia to strike at them.
*I had Fitchner's plan in mind while writing this.

Summary
"What people are calling it now, the Rat War, there are no words to describe what we faced. And I do not want to find the words to describe how I felt. Trapped underground in the dark, squeezing into tunnels that aren’t meant for men my size. Knowing at any moment the walls could be caved in on us and we’d be trapped, or worse we’d be trapped with Fear himself. And the voice that found me in Attica- that found me in that bloodydam box returned, taunting me at every corner, whispering to me when I tried to find sleep, seeping doubt into every one of my decisions."
Four months after returning from the Rat Wars, Darrow and Sevro learn to deal with their traumas of war and Darrow's lingering fears and anxieties from The Box.

Summary
I may be ice: as frigid and deceptively fragile as frost at dawn—an apt crown for aphelion of the tantalising warmth that has ever tempted but never thawed me. Yet I’m also summer: mesmerising menace masked by mirth, debauched bearer of every earthly delight, purveyor of such luminescence that I rival Sol, although I’m damned myself to gloom that only a half–denizen of the Void can know.
He may be fire: as fervid and dazzlingly ferocious as wildfire at zenith, subjugated to the furious tempest that rages within him, mercilessly as surf ravages scar, demanding immolation on a protean pyre—for whom does he burn tonight? Yet he’s also winter: winsome woe of reckoning, scourge to the sublime and dread of the decadent, although all he covets in these worlds are the halcyon days he’s due.
We are both creatures of contradictions. It’s why we understand one another. But it’s not lost on me that ice and fire cannot mingle without the frailer’s demise, that summer and winter never meet anywhere but the Ice. We tried for temperance.
We failed.

Summary
I may be laughter: sharp as a wolf’s tooth, all brittle bravado and biting jest, savage survivor clinging to scraps of mirth among the ruins. A bastard son of Mars, born to bone and blood, too small, too feral, too hungry for the shine. Yet I’m also grief: the raw wound beneath the warpaint, the child abandoned to shadows and ghosts, forever yearning toward a sun that has only ever scorched my hands.
He may be gold: not in color, but in gravity — a star remade in the forge of fury, searing through the heavens on wings of vengeance, burdened with a light too bright, too brutal for the world to hold. Yet he’s also ash: the boy who buried his heart with his wife, the son who wears a war for skin, desperate for redemption he knows he’ll never earn.
We are both creatures of fracture. It’s why I see him when others can’t, why he lets me close when others must kneel. But I know — have always known — that wolves and reapers hunt different ghosts. That what I want, he cannot give. That some stars were never meant to fall.
We tried to be brothers.
I failed.
