Summary
A young girl who’s hardly old enough to process the situation she was thrusted into just wants to get by day to day without dying, but the eternal and physical struggles of the post Nuclear war ridden Commonwealth are starting to become suffocating and draining the very spirit from her once bright soul. Maybe it’s best if she ends her journey on her own terms instead of allowing someone else to make that decision for her.
Nick Valentine thought she was just another case to close, and that this will all be over in a blink of an eye. But after getting to know a little more about this teenage girl with incredible human capabilities and a tragic past that alludes to something much more sinister at play, he decided he wasn’t willing to let such a young life end so quickly nor let the monsters of the wastes get their claws deeper into her poor soul.

The story follows Lena, the middle child of three sisters. Nora, the eldest, awakens in Boston, unaware that her two sisters had also been placed in a Vault-Tec cryo storage and had already been navigating life in the wasteland for five years.
Down in Mississippi, Lena is told by her younger sister, Mary Elizabeth, that Nora might still be alive. Deciding the gamble was worth it, they made the arduous trek to Boston and found more than just their sister in the remnants of the old city.
