Perhaps it was his brain frantically scrambling to find a reason not to have to say goodbye to Felix just yet, or perhaps it was his heart screaming at him to do something and finally stop being a coward. Felix had picked up his payment from Sylvain mere moments ago and had made his way towards the front door, and Sylvain had followed like his life depended on it.
They’d only just reunited after decades of having no contact at all, and here Felix was, all ready to leave again now that the job was done.
Felix was leaving.
