When every fiber of your being is made of the vibration of the cosmos, you get used to having a constant jitter in your skin. When the energy that powers the speed of light and sound spark in your bones, you tend to be permanently restless. Yet Makkari never felt such a hum of the celestial gift buzzing in her like this.
It’s 3 in the morning when the surge within her jerks her awake then seizes her in bed. Druig’s at her side in one of the guest rooms of Ajak’s old South Dakota home. They decided to home base together for at least a year, waiting on the Celestials' judgment about their act of defiance against them for the sake of humanity. It has been 2 months already.
Makkari fears she is the first to get taken out by her creators.

Post-Emergence the ragtag immortal family finds themselves having quite the challenge when the speedster and mind manipulator accidently do the impossible make a new member of the family. This will follow the pregnancy, birth and various stories the Earthly Eternal family will have in raising one of their own in defiance of the Celestials. -

Maybe it’s a bit sad, that it’s early November and this is Druig’s first university party, but in his defence, he deliberately picked the same university as Ajak and Phastos so he wouldn’t have to strike out and attempt to make friends on his own.

Before she could process the self-deprecating attempt at humor, the boy wordlessly returned all of this attention to the meal, which he ate with unexpected voracity. This was no common mage. No sooner than she noticed and began to process this fact, he pointed toward another dish and lifted his eyebrows in question. Her brows furrowed in confusion. Where the hell was the supposed harbinger of darkness she’d been promised? Who was this rural dork eating all of her God-given egg tarts?

After the Eternals fam gets back together and they stopped the emergence, the Eternals are done with living at their own little corners of the world.
Instead they decide to move back in with mom and visit Phastos all the time. Since Thena and Gilgamesh lived isolated in Australia, Druig had his whole cult thing going on, Makkari holed up in the Domo, Ikaris lived in his Fortress of Solitude in Alaska and Ajak had her whole cow girl thing, Sersi, Sprite and Phastos decide to have a guide to help the rest of their family adjust to the 21st century.
Rules for babysitting, teaching Makkari the wonders of streaming and smartphone addictions. Sersi, Sprite and Phastos sure have their hands full.

Sprite has had one hell of a week.
First, they had to watch Sersi and Dane make moon eyes at each other during his birthday and Dane awkwardly ask Sersi to move in with him. Blegggh.
Then, came the deviants and Ikaris, who they were mostly happy to see. Mostly.
Then turns out, their mom is dead, then their brother Gil is murdered, their whole mission is a lie and the Emergence is in a week and the whole family reunites and has to decide if they’re on Team Ikaris or Team Sersi.
So could anyone blame them that they got a little stabby?
