Belladonna Blackwell had lived at St. Anne’s Orphanage in Limehouse, East London for as long as she could remember. She thought her parents must be dead, or in jail, or in debt, or otherwise unable to look after her. Or maybe they had been scared of her Special Powers like the Blackwells had been.
Either way, she didn’t need them. She had everything she needed to succeed in life: herself. And she was going to succeed, if only in getting her freedom.
But then, things changed.
Belladonna Carina Potter had lived at St. Anne's Orphanage in Limehouse, East London for as long as she could remember. But she had just found out that her parents were alive, and rich, and famous, and magic too, and perfectly capable of caring for a child (see: her twin brother). The story jumps to several years after Melaina has graduated from Hogwarts. Melaina has hit a speedbump in her life. She is intelligent but falls in depressive states, especially after losing her family to natural causes in the past few years. Melaina gets in with the wrong crowd and begins selling her potions to desperate wizards and witches in Knockturn Alley. All until the same professor that introduces her to the wizarding world, introduces her to something else - The Order of the Phoenix.
Consistently brushing up against the stigma of having been a Slytherin and a Parseltongue, Melaina wonders if she can ever truly be accepted by the order. She also falls completely head over heels for her old professor and can't help but wonder if he feels the same for her. Not to mention, Sirius Black seems interested in her as well.
