He curses Menelaus and Paris, he curses Achilles and his stupid mother, he curses every man he can think of, and then more. He feels Penelope drop in front of him, taking his face into her hands, reassuring him, following his every word with intensity that has been unbeknownst to him for a decade.

Summary
Odysseus returns to Ithaca, only to find himself trapped in his mind. The weight of unspoken truths, guilt, and lingering trauma stifles him, and though reunited with his wife and son, he cannot escape the internal turmoil that keeps him distant.
Beside him, Penelope watches – quietly, with the ache of someone who has waited, endured, and now sees the man she loves begin to unravel before her.

Penelope’s breath left her in a soundless exhale. Her heart that she had thought had forgotten how to beat, started its rhythm anew.
That face.
A little older. Lined with pain and war and years away from her arms. But it was him.
It was him.
