Kassandra stood at the helm of her ship, felt the dry, warm wind from the south playing with her braid and now the first rays of the morning sun peeked just over the eastern horizon, ghosting her face with a warmth she barely felt. That would surely dry her tears, she told herself while sniffling, and wiped a few more of them away. Soon, she’d feel better. Sobbing would stop. The pain would stop, too. She just had to finish off a few more Cultists. That would help. It always helped.
“We set course for Messara,” she firmly said to no one in particular, still gripping the rudder hard as she turned the Adrasteia south — and behind her Mykonos vanished under a new morning.
Kyra was the past.

Kassandra is surrounded by thugs in a burning warehouse when suddenly a man comes out of nowhere to assist her. Despite her refusal to admit it- even to herself- the stranger has saved her life and to her astonishment asks for nothing in return. His name is Brasidas of Sparta.
He is everything she should hate. A Spartan Commander, loyal to his city state and its laws, a man driven by duty and honor. And most importantly a man who resembles another... from her past.
However, she falls in love with Brasidas as soon as she watches him fight by her side. Can Kassandra fight her feelings for him? Can she trust him or will he betray her as her father did?
