Summary

Summary
Shar and Ketheric Thorm were the ones to cast the curse that transported Thaniel to the Shadowfell, Halsin was the one who vowed to bring him back no matter what the cost, and the undead Harpers were the ones to attack the portal. And most would say everything that followed- Halsin getting trapped in the Shadowfell for a decade, his body transformed, personality radically altered, and memories almost all gone- was simply down to bad luck.
Not Kiaran, though. He had been the one to fail in defending the Druid he so cared for; he had missed that last fatal wave of Harpers attacking the portal until it was too late. In the end, all of this was his fault. It's his responsibility now to right the wrong he allowed to come to Halsin, but unfortunately, broken people are notoriously difficult to mend.
But maybe the two broken people would find it easier to heal their wounds together than alone? -

They stumbled, half-asleep through these portals into the Shadowfell, a dimension that does not let go of its inhabitants easily. These six children fell into the upside-down world beneath the Material Plane without even knowing that they should be afraid of what they found.
Soon, though, they will find out that the Shadowfell requires a healthy dose of fear to navigate. Soon, they will understand that clever children do not follow messengers into unknown planes.

She does everything to hide, to distract from it so Isobel may never discover her greatest wound.
If there is one thing Isobel knows it's her Aylin, and the change in her behavior is not missed.
