As far as I am aware, you could probably read this without actually ever watching Broadchurch as it is close third person POV and for anything not covered here, that is just put down to Ryan's lack of an omniscient view of the overall case(s) within the show. But don't hold me to that!

Looking good in front of a camera was one thing, but looking happy— well, that took skill. David Matthews was obviously a professional diplomat. Ergo, like recognized like, birds of a feather and all, or so to say, Seishirou knew the power of a well-practiced smile.
Pity about that smile. Seishirou walked past the cordoned-off tape, careful not to disturb the scene. David Matthews was definitely not smiling now.
In fact, it was hard to tell where his face was. David Matthews had been so brutally murdered, that the cleaning maid who had found his body in the morning screamed herself silly and nearly fainted from her own hysterics. Seishirou had no such qualms. Blood, corpses, bodies, none of it bothered him. Still, he was rather glad that he had worn his second-best pair of leather shoes.
July 1999, set after X-12/Ikebukuro. Seishirou and Subaru are tasked to investigate the murder of an American diplomat.
Takes place after Tokyo Interludes but can be read stand-alone.

Hello hello! I've always wondered how the events of the movie would have gone if emergency responders responded to the events of the movie and how it would've gone if things didn't go as according to plan as in the movie. Here we follow the point of view of Deputy John Henderson, a K9 officer within the Beach County Sheriff's Office with the fitting callsign '23-Kilo' :).
