Kraglin flashed his metal chompers in an amused grin. Nearly wanted to make a dig about the cost of metal versus enamel if you were regularly getting into the kinda fights that knocked loose a couple of teeth. You got real easy about looks when that bill came due. Plus, the few times Peter got a tooth smacked out he’d had baby ones or Yondu had actually ponied up for them fancy synthetics without much bitching. Probably to not draw undue attention to ‘em when most of the crew had a mouthful of shine.
Instead, he drawled, “Naw. Ever been bit by a Terran? That’ll kill you dead in a week if they ain’t been washing their mouths regular like.”

“Oh! Cool,” Mike answers, although Will can tell his mind is elsewhere.
“You alr—"
"Who is "M"?" Mike suddenly asks, interrupting him.
Will’s eyebrows shoot up, confusion written all over his face. "Huh?"
Turning around, he realizes that Mike is holding something. A piece of wood in an odd shape. He steps a little closer, squinting his eyes. The capitalized M + W, bluntly carved in the wood, is impossible to miss.
And Will's heart drops to his stomach. Because he knows that piece of wood. Of course he knows it, he goddamn carved that himself years ago.
"Uh, I—," Will says.
Or, the fic where Will and Mike rebuild Castle Byers and Mike figures something out (but it takes him a while, obviously.)

Quill shrugged. "I was a kid, man," he said. "He was strong, handsome, and he always did the right thing. Grandma had all kinds of stories about things he did, people he saved. It was a lot. Don't get me wrong, I had way bigger crushes. There's a reason I named my old ship the Milano and not the Rogers. But I always wanted someone that would be as good to me as he was to his girlfriend in those movies, and being a total badass doesn't hurt."
He gave Rocket an affectionate smile, completely missing the pit that had formed in his stomach.
Of course Quill's stupid childhood crush was everything Rocket could never be. Just like Gamora was, always trying to do what was right. Not to mention she didn't look like some stupid animal, any more than Captain America did. What the hell was Rocket doing, pretending he was good enough?
