Intrigued, they find that the production shone a light on Damian’s father, and the old rumors that surrounded him. Better yet, Damian and Jon both still held a grudge with their fathers after being benched. So, without letting their families know what the production was about, they embark on their next adventure: musicals.

Or Tim and Kon are summoned to the royal palace by Prince Jonathan. Surely nothing could go wrong when bringing a dragonkin that despises humans to his core into the heart of a human city, right?

There’s just enough strength left in Jason to lower himself to the stairs instead of falling flat on his face and breaking his nose on the Replacement’s mahogany floorboards. He clings to the banister as his body drops like a malfunctioning crane. His teeth are clattering together so hard he can’t hear himself think.
Not that he particularly wants to right now.
He wraps his arms around himself and squeezes hard enough to aggravate the bruises on his ribs. The pressure is a shitty mockery of what his body craves, teasing himself in a way that only seems to make the terrible, all-consuming cold that’s got him in its jaws sink its teeth in deeper.
The bottom cuffs of his sweatpants are soaked with rain and mud. Somehow, the unpleasant shock of cold fabric clinging to his ankles is the sensation that’s easiest to focus on.
This cold doesn’t threaten to drive him mad.
Had he not been busy freezing from the inside out, he probably would have noticed the presence at the top of the stairs before it broke his ribs.
