She couldn’t stand. Not yet anyways. But she knew that. She was familiar with the pain. Something big had blown up next to her, and it messed her up badly. Her head lolled around, threatening to disrupt her precarious balance, and she caught sight of the wall behind her.
Well, the not-wall. There was a huge, enormous hole in the building, and judging from the pool of blood from where she'd been lying, she'd been awfully close to falling right off the platform and into the refreshing depths of the ocean beneath her.
Refreshing. Because the heat was suffocating. -
