Summary
Espionage was always Espio’s strong suit.
Whenever a case required more information that could only be obtained through infiltration, he was the one sent in. So, when his team’s latest mission was to investigate an anonymous tip from an unknown client, he was sent to check it out.
The claim had been believable enough. One of Eggman’s old factories from the war had been reportedly seen active again, gray clouds drifting up from the smokestack every so often. Their client had asked for them to go investigate. It was a concerning case. The factory had never been cleaned out post-war. No one wanted to enter and relive their trauma so early into peacetime, so the idea of a new criminal having access to Eggtech… It practically spelled out trouble.
OR:
After the success and subsequent failure of the Metal Virus, Eggman decides to attempt to refine his process once again. Armed with his new technology, dubbed the Roboticizer, all he needs is one thing; a test subject, to be sure it works. And who better to test it on than an unfortunate Espio, captured during an investigation of a supposedly abandoned factory from during the war?

Summary

Sonic swallows – or what he would have done.. He startles himself, noticing no such thing exists. He can’t swallow. He can’t even open his mouth. Does he have a mouth? He swore he had one just yesterday before he fell asleep. He ate a chili dog while talking with Tails about how to stop another one of Eggman’s plans – he had a mouth before!
He tries to speak, but nothing comes out, just fear lacing his heart. Heart? Wait.. He can’t feel that either. He moves his hand to his chest, trying to find where the beat would lay.. But it doesn’t exist. There is no thump in sight.

Summary
Sonic’s next adventure entails the unsolicited tampering with the timeline as a result of A Higher Power’s acknowledgement that, after the events of the Time Anomaly, things are still not exactly the same. Small rips in the space-time fabric cause disturbances in the present timeline, putting the current and future inhabitants at the risk of uncertainty.
As such, It grants Sonic the power of going back in time through pictures and hand-written documents; but because It does not trust Sonic to do it alone without potentially destroying existence at it’s wake, a certain other hedgehog gains the questionable honor of accompanying him.Which, as it should be trivial knowledge by now, can only go so wrong.

Metal Sonic gave itself one last task to prove itself, and it failed.
It failed it's last attempt to kill Sonic.
Now in Sonic and Tails hands, the robot has no will to go on. Sonic already took everything from it. It betrayed it's 'creator.' It doesn't want to return to him. Knowing it will just go back to being a tool.
Tails, knowing who the robot truly is, feels greatly disturbed by it's presence. He knows it deserves better.
It's just going to take a very, long time to achieve that. But the only way to go forward is up.
