    A year and a few months after Cortana's demise, John returns to active duty. Even if her absence tore a hole in his very soul, he kept moving non-stop, running away from the memories of her death.
    Everything changes when a mysterious human female is captured trying to avoid the UNSC Infinity's security, a woman whose features, voice and wits are the same as the Cortana he once knew in digital form. She returned because her will to protect her Spartan was stronger than anything.
    She once was his shield and sword, but now she's fragile and desperate; Cortana isn't the only one who avoided death. Something else is coming after him. John neutralized the Didact and now he faces a greater threat: the sins of his past. His greatest sin was to let Cortana find a way beneath his skin and become his weakness.
    John-117 is the target, but he's not the only one in danger.

    After consecutively suffering form the Created Conflict and the Banished Assault, UNSC Revenant decides to land on Earth to resetablish a base, regroup with the other surviving UNSC groups, and recover the strength to Finish the Fight.

    Now Night City watches in awe as they see Spartans in action, various alien technologies outperform and overpower the pre-existing Megacorps, and UNSC slowly change the city for the better.
    To the horror of the people and to the excitement of the Corpos.
    ... Wait, would it be excitement of the people and to the horror of the Corpos? It pretty much depends on what we're talking about?
    Well alright, then...

    Oh, and we manage to standardize genuine healthy foods. I'm not eating anything that tastes and has nutritional values worse than the rations UNSC gives us, you know. Those things already tastes ass.

    Spiritual "sequel" to Halo:Reach.

    The military bastion Reach has fallen to the Covenant. Untold millions perished in the fighting, devastating the UNSC and leaving its highest echelons of command reeling in the aftermath. Despite humanity's best efforts, the writing is on the wall: the Covenant will be at Earth soon, Cole Protocol be damned. What remains of the UNSC's standing military assets have been redeployed to Sol as part of Operation: CASTLE in an effort to reorganize, bolster defenses, and lay the groundwork for an eventual evacuation. Humanity has laid all its cards on the table.

    However, hidden within the background of CASTLE, amid the seemingly endless personnel transfers and deployment orders, a handpicked group of warriors from SPARTAN-III Gamma Company have been pulled from Onyx. Fresh out of a hellish SPARTAN-III training regimen, the young spartans of Team Tachi are eager to test themselves in their first true mission - to assassinate a certain high-ranking Sangheili fleet admiral.

    But plans change. They always do. And when the Covenant arrive at Earth in force, Team Tachi will have to lay it all on the line in the ultimate battle for the fate of humanity.

Several factions find themselves on The Liminal Nexus, a forerunner shield world that connects the multiverse. The Main Antagonist is the banished, the Didact, the flood, and The Witch Cult, though there are others. The POV is mostly Bubba the OC but eventually I found out how to do other POVs in the ai dungeon game, much later. The characters are shown on a bit of a rotating basis through the MCs POV. While the story itself generaly rotates between issue, talks, fighting and ealing with issue, resolution, downtime, training, issue, repeat.
