Riku is a third child who is mostly ignored by his family and everyone else. Most people don't even notice him. Only a few do.
His parents and their friends had created Digital EDEN. A place where people and Digimon can interact with each other. People can use Digivices that they created to travel to this place.
When Riku is seven years old, he finally gets a Digivice and can go to EDEN. Riku doesn't believe that Digimon are real, he like most people believe that Digimon are programs that were created for EDEN.
After an incident in the Digiworld with an unidentified creature, he can no longer return to his normal body.
He hears Izzy telling Tentomon about Hackers and he wished that there were good Hackers.
He decides to become a Hacker though he's not sure what kind of hacker that he wants to be.
