This is an alternate Universe where the lab of the chosen crests was destroyed. Gennai was captured. And the crests and their digi eggs were lost. And the Dark Masters were not the only threats. Instead the main threats lie in an army of virus types called the 7 Vices army. Now they run unopposed across the Digital world. Their only enemy left is the 7 Virtues army who are a collaboration of the various data and vaccine types who stand against them. And with the chosen 8 no longer a threat the back up option was used to bring other humans who could take up the mantle to defend the digital world from this growing threat of the darkness. Follow the story of Seth Silverfang as he goes through with his partner Agumon to help this world from being destroyed.

The sole Armor digimon’s shoulder pads sprung from their relaxed position, hanging over the outside of his arms, to pointing directly out, while his jaw would have hit the floor if not for his helm. “Wait, what?!”
(Or I went "What if Veemon met Davis on a quest as Magnamon" and it snowballed from there.)
