You would think having your soul mate's name appear on your body on your eighteenth birthday would make it simple and clear cut.
Nothing in John's life has ever been that simple.

Summary
When the Citadel was blasted to pieces, no one thought Shepard could have possibly made it out alive, but when the Alliance recovers him, intact and breathing, from the wreckage, things change for both the better and the worst. While Shepard is ecstatic to be reunited with his crew, a new threat looms over the horizon, one hellbent on making Shepard wish he had perished in the explosion: a fanatical group calling themselves "The Phantoms". When Shepard learns that his cybernetic implants are just as valuable to others as they are to him, he seeks to find more information about their significance, and discovers more than he thought he would. There's a race against the clock to repair the internal damage before his own time in the galaxy runs out-- for good.

Summary
The stubble on my cheek grazes his own as I lean in to whisper. “You’ve got something to prove to me tonight, Major Alenko. Up for it?”
A small whimper escapes him. It’s so unbelievably hot that I can force that noise out of him so easily, in a public (well okay, semi-public) setting no less.
“Thought so.” I press a kiss to his temple, ruffling up his hair affectionately, and pull back.
Yep, it’s gonna be a fun night. This is the filthiest thing I have ever written in my life.

Summary
When Kaidan was younger, he was rendered mute due to an injury. He was bullied all through high school and leaving for university was going to be his escape from that. It was his first day when he, quite literally, bumped into a handsome stranger and ran away. He expected that to be the last time he saw the man. But boy was he wrong.

Summary
Shepard and Kaidan's relationship has always been an inevitability, especially to their friends and co-workers who have spent days, months and even years watching those two tip-toe around their feelings for each other, feelings that seem obvious to everyone except for them. They are their own people, however, and those around them can do nothing but hope and subtly push them together, watching and waiting as they form a bond that stands in the face of everything that has come before them and everything that will soon arrive.
Or,
An examination of Shepard and Kaidan's evolving relationship through the eyes of those closest to them, and eventually, through the eyes of the two men themselves.

Summary
“Wow Shepard, the others weren’t lying. Your cabin’s huge! I mean, what even is this fish tank?” Kaidan stands washed by the cool blue light, and Shepard chuckles, reminded of when they visited the Citadel for the first time. Kaidan’s exclamation of “Big place!” and Shepard holding back his amusement at the then-lieutenant.
That was three years ago, and Shepard’s missed two of them, years during which the lieutenant has grown and been promoted into the very major that stands before him. Strong, capable, and oh so handsome.
Thinking that he’s waited long enough, Shepard walks over. Kaidan doesn’t even notice until Shepard is right up beside him, but when he does, an endearingly sheepish look grows on his face.
“Sorry, I, uh, got distracted.”
“I can see that.” Shepard says, trying his hardest to pretend like he doesn’t find Kaidan just so damn adorable.
Kaidan’s awkward grin morphs into an affectionate smile. "So, what did you want to talk about?"
"Well, I wanted to know…" Shepard presses closer. "What did you mean by 'benefits'?”
Or,
Five of the times Shepard and Kaidan have sex in Shepard's cabin, and one of the times they have sex in their apartment.

Summary
Participating in a teaching programme at Grissom Academy, Kaidan is going to be apart from Shepard for six whole months. And for the first three, it's already been absolutely horrible for Shepard, the loneliness that fills him uncomfortably unfamiliar.
That is, until Kaidan makes a surprise return halfway through. It's for work however, and they can just about keep it professional despite how much they miss each other. At least til lunch time, when Shepard can't keep his hands off his husband any longer.
Also, Kaidan has a grown a beard. Not even Shepard can resist that.

Summary
It's a few years after the war; the galaxy is at peace and Kaidan has everything he could ever dream of: a rewarding job as Head of the Alliance's Biotics Spec Ops Division, and the man he loves by his side, one Commander John Shepard.
But then, someone from Shepard's past unexpectedly shows up and dredges up all of Kaidan's past insecurities that he thought he had long since gotten over. His usual self-confidence begins to crumble as he can't help but wonder if he's good enough, and yet, he forces himself to put on a strong face, refusing to let anyone see how badly he's been shaken.
However, Shepard knows him too well, and once he finds out what's been bothering Kaidan, he's determined to prove to him that he is so much better than merely "good enough"... in more ways than one.

Summary
It's the second last night before Shepard got shipped off to N6 training, but before he and his squadmates are put through one of the hardest programmes in the galaxy, they decided to use these last moments of freedom to party the night away in one of the city's more popular clubs. However, Shepard wasn't just looking to drink and dance; he wanted one last hookup, one last night of no-strings-attached fun to tide him over for the coming weeks. He had plenty of interested parties, but there was only one who really caught his attention: an attractive fellow soldier whom he could tell would treat him right, a man who was just as interested and was quick to take him up on his offer.
But what followed was more than just a moment of quick satisfaction - it was passionate, intense, and revelatory in more ways than one, a chance encounter that would stay with Shepard forever.

Summary
“Relax John, you’ll be fine. She’s going to love you,” Kaidan says, using the hand that’s not on the steering wheel to give Shepard’s knee a comforting squeeze.
Though his eyes are on the road, he can practically feel the anxiety radiating off of Shepard, who has also been uncharacteristically quiet, a stark contrast to how he kept asking questions and seeking reassurances while they were still in the apartment. It was as if a flip was switched the moment they entered the car.
While this would normally be troubling behaviour, today Kaidan finds it incredibly endearing.
Who knew that the great Commander Shepard would be so worried about meeting his mom?

Summary
In another life, one where he didn't join the Alliance, Shepard would have likely stayed with Tenth Street Reds. Knowing himself, he would have also very likely risen up the ranks, possibly ending up as the head of said criminal organisation, becoming a dangerous and infamous leader in the shady underworld. Said position in the gang would certainly come with many benefits, such as power, riches, and people wanting to sleep with him. Or it could bring the eye-catching presence of a handsome, skilled and almost annoyingly nice newbie by the name of Alenko who is quite obviously attracted to him, much to Shepard's amusement.
As luck would have it, Alenko just recently made a huge mistake in one of their operations, and now, Shepard has to find a way to punish him...
