Summary
John Sheppard hasn't had sleep in two days, 3 hours, 27 minutes and he was tired.
why? You may be asking. It's simple really, Rodney and Zelenka have "commandeered" him as a guinea pig to test certain Ancient devices.
So, hey, it's not really his fault when sleep catches up to him and he leans on a control panel that - both scientists had deemed 'useless and unimportant' - glows and surrounds him a bright light before making him fall into the darkness of his own mind.
OR:
When exploring the city, John accidentally touched a device that lets people see his childhood memories. John is totally hating on the Ancients and- oh look at that he gets to pick the people that gets to see his memories, maybe he could hate on the Ancients a little less.

Summary
They sat in quiet and John held on to Rodney's wrist again. Rodney kept watch as John closed his eyes, that fake-sleep under the long lashes, and he stayed long after John wanted him gone, ignoring the order to leave that Sheppard had made twice. He slouched onto the edge of the bed, let John keep his hand even as he rested his head on his crossed arms. John watched him but allowed it.
"Just so we're clear," said Rodney, barely a whisper. "I'm working for the Genii until we get the ‘gate fixed? That's... that's what I'm doing."
John's eyes closed then and his hands squeezed around Rodney’s.
"Please?" he whispered back, finally. Rodney clasped his loose hand over John's and he stood up, leaned over the edge of the bed to rest his forehead to John's.
--When Kolya captures Sheppard and McKay, the pressure is on Rodney to keep John alive long enough for their team back on Atlantis to track them down. They find themselves keeping each other sane as they navigate the hazards of scattered allies and a broken truce between the Genii and Atlantis.

John wants Atlantis to get back to Pegasus. Too bad everyone else seems determined to stop that from happening. Between the IOA, the brass, and general misanthropic assholery it looks like Atlantis is going to be stuck on Earth for a while. Still, at least there's interesting things going on at the SGC to keep him occupied, right?
A conspiracy against the Tau'ri unfurls. Attacks on multiple fronts; kidnappings, invasion, a spacebattle, a bomb... Amidst all the chaos, who's the primary target?

Summary
In the early days of the Atlantis expedition, there is a natural schism between the military and scientific communities, fueled mostly by Kavanaugh and his cronies. Elizabeth has to find a way to make them see that soldiers can be intelligent, too. Fortunately, the group likes chess, and Weir has a ringer...
This story was written shortly after "38 Minutes" aired, so it is now slightly AU in regards to John's background. Still, a pretty decent story.
