Summary
The Remake has brought out the best of us and the worst of us! We either love it or hate it! But one thing the Remake has done has rekindled a discussion! And one aspect of this discussion is the validity of the Poem Loveless and its relevance to the Final Fantasy VII compilation. (i wrote this summary last rift and i don't feel like changing it)
Due to the recent event of Dead by Daylight (as well as me buying the rift pass with only 30ish days left) i’ve been playing dbd for several hours a day and as such have spent a lot of time reading and learning about different character’s lore. The chapters will be a mix of drabbles, aspects of characters I enjoy, lists of headcanons for a character, or just general ranting about aspects of the game. Mostly for my own entertainment but i’m sure you’ll find some fun reading these.
*Any shipping will be marked at the start of the chapter, I know not everyone is super interested in shipping so you’ll get a fun lil warning ahead of time. I’ll also be (for the most part) staying clear of (most) of the licensed characters as to me they aren’t as interesting/cool as the original characters since they have pre existing source material and aren’t as interesting to talk about.*

Phainon interrupted him with a half-hearted shake of the head. “If anything happens, Mydeimos, and the other Chrysos Heirs or Okhema… if even Amphoreus itself is threatened because of me, my weakness is you.”

Thanatos crosses their arms and drums their fingers along arms that were distinctly Mydei’s. “You confound me, Phainon of Aedes Elysiae. It is clear that you would listen to him, that you would follow him across the Lethe—so why will you not rest?”
“You told me he is forbidden from crossing.” Phainon places a hand over his heart to steady himself. “And I find myself incapable of existing without him, whether in life or death.”

Phainon lowers his gaze to Mydei’s lips. “I would say that the build does not a ship make. But rather, her captain does.”
It would be easy for Mydei to let the moment slip past him, to call Phainon an idiot for something so nonsensical. Because “don't be foolish, it would not be the same ship”. But everything Phainon does has purpose. Every smile, every laugh, every gesture—it is all calculated so that Phainon never loses his course as the perfect saviour.
Something drums within his chest, maybe it’s his heart. “Are…you still talking about ships?” Mydei asks softly.
Phainon’s hand joins his, taking advantage of the rare moment they are alone—where they do not have to put first their appearance as protectors and Strife and Deathless and Deliverance.
“Was I ever talking about a ship, I wonder?” Phainon echos just as softly back.
Or in which, Mydei dreams of a better life.
