Hermann didn't even remember what he and Newt had been arguing about, maybe it was important or maybe Newt was just feeling particularly irate, but he had suddenly gotten very close to Hermann as he continued to shout.
Oh. Hermann had never noticed how nice Newt smelled. It was so warm, and musty and quintessentially Newt that he was surprised he hadn't taken note of it before. He was even more surprised to find that he sort of liked it.

How could he not? They're practically together all the time. He's seen every inch of that man, and tasted even more of it. He knows how stressed the other is, but... when he sees Jayce squirming in his seat, rocking his hips in a way that only fascinated him, he was quick to indulge in the inevitable.
A JayVik piss fic, because I couldn't help myself.

Taking that as a cue to continue, Jayce traced his fingertips up Viktor’s leg, and they continued to slowly rise and follow the outline of his calf and shin, disappearing under the fabric of his pants.

This particular argument can go either both ways: completely destroy the little peace they had, or form a new bond between them.

Hermann Gottlieb is far from the most skilled when it comes to communication. If the disastrous first meeting with a certain penpal-turned-nuisance-turned-lab-partner wasn’t enough to prove it, he is often baffled by the intricacies of friendship, and he finds it to be much easier to simply lash out than to actually put his feelings into words.
This is a problem, however, when the aforementioned lab partner is exactly what is causing his unfortunate feelings.
