Summary
It doesn’t take long for Akira to realize that Akechi is a vampire. He does have an unfair advantage, given that he works at Akechi’s favorite cafe, and thus sees him fairly frequently. Being a cat hybrid means his eyesight and sense of smell are much better than a base human’s, and allows him to catch the barely-there scent of blood on his breath before it’s covered up with coffee. Akira will even occasionally see the slightest hint of fangs when Akechi smiles. He doesn’t plan on mentioning it—vampires are viewed with suspicion for some reason, so he understands why Akechi might want to keep his creature status on the down low.
Then the scent of blood changes, concerning Akira. It used to smell fresh, but now it smells almost…dry? Stale? Akira isn’t sure what the right word is. Is Akechi having issues finding someone to feed from? Akira knows there’s a stigma around feeding vampires, but he isn’t sure why.
