Vex clutched her head, focusing on herself, and felt everything else fade away for a moment. Her head ached like never before, as she sensed not one, but two such presences nearby.
One powerful presence, but the other much, much older and eerily twisted and unnatural, even more dangerous than the first.
Vex furrowed her brows as she tried to sense more, pushing herself beyond her limits and feeling the headache intensify into a piercing burn - until a hand gently rested on her shoulder, cool to the touch.
"What is it? Are you alright?" Raishan stepped up and whispered beside her ear.
Where Raishan discovers Thordak’s madness early, realizes that she’s never going to get a cure out of him while he’s alive, and sets off to go hunting for ways to slay the Cinder King a lot sooner.
She somehow manages to join a band of adventurers who might just be what she’s looking for.

Astrea Tal’Dorei had everything she could have ever wanted. All she had to do was wave her hand and the Earth would rumble with echoing footsteps of maids and other servants answering to her every beck and call.
But it was hard to enjoy something that never felt like it belonged to her. Like she would wake up from a long lavish dream, to a reality of rags and starvation in a matter of seconds. For it was not something she was born for; merely just a gift.
One that could be taken away in a heartbeat - or at least that is what she feared. Because even though her adopted parents adored her, there had to be a limit to that love, to her worth.
So when the opportunity arises to prove herself, to her parents and her people, she is desperate to take it. After all slaying one Dragon can’t be that hard. However, her father, Uriel Tal’Dorei III has other ideas about letting his eldest child be slain by some beast.
How was he to know how tenacious she would be, and how her desperation would drive her to work alongside the Not-So-Legendary Vox Machina, and become a Legend herself.
How was anyone to know the relationships she would make, especially with one dark-haired half-elf.

It was when Paragon’s Call stepped into the Chandei Quorum ball, bringing a whole new surge of murmurs with them, that Ashton first noticed the woman. She looked out of sorts with the rest of the mercenaries, pale and dressed in a long black robe of fine making, leaning somewhat heavily on a dark wooden cane with intricate, silver inlaid carvings.
She looked up, precisely in his direction, unbothered by the crowds around. Her eyes were a mesmerizing, almost unsettling shade of green behind the cracked porcelain mask that covered the top half of her face. It was almost as if she could see right through Ashton with a singular gaze.

As the Champion of Vecna entered the grand hall, wings of glistening pale bones dragging behind him, the hooded followers bowed in respect. None dared looking in his face, as the eye of their Lord rested in the champion’s flesh, all-seeing.
“What news do you bring?” Vax hadn’t spoken in a long time, not since he joined the battlefield - the slaughter field, more like - in the east. His own voice sounded foreign to him.
Two of the undead soldiers moved, pushing forward a humanoid figure covered in blood.
“This, Champion, is the fearless leader of the resistance.”
The chained figure was young, younger than Vax has expected any leader to be. His hair white as snow in Wildemount on the days where not enough blood was spilled in the name of the Undying King, and his eyes - Vax was not sure what he felt, or if he felt anything at all, as he stared into those vibrant blue eyes, burning with hatred and fury.
“Ah.” His lips moved on their own. “Our Lord will be pleased.”Where Vox Machina never met each other, and Vecna ended up reigning over Exandria. Vax was the champion of the Raven Queen, captured and brainwashed to become Vecna’s champion. Percy was the leader of the resistance force.

She needed to tell him, she knew that. But she wasn't stupid; she knew what she was getting herself (and this child) into. She knew the risks of fighting and the risks of stress when it came to pregnancy. It didn't matter how badly she wanted this child, or how desperately she wanted to share the news with her husband. The inevitable, tragic truth was that there was no way this child would survive the fight. She had already begun to mourn them, stealing any moment she was alone to place a hand on her gently swollen belly and apologize to the fetus who was half her and half Percy and will herself not to break down over the thought of losing this child. His child.
