If your soulmate was ever injured, a flower individual to them appears on you where the injury occurred.
It’s sweet, almost, you see when your lover or best friend gets a little paper cut on their finger, or cuts themself with a knife again.
But for Tommy, it raises a lot of questions. His body has so many flowers, and they weren’t all the same flower either.
Or
When your platonic soulmate gets hurt, a flower blooms on the other’s skin where they were injured.
Tommy definitely has the record for the most; some are even layered. He doesn’t like it.

Summary
Tommy’s death didn’t make any sense. He was supposed to go down in a blaze of glory, like his brother before him. Instead, he’d died away from view. He vanished with a whimper instead of a blast. He died after the war had already been won, not for his ideals or his country, but just… for what? Because Dream felt like tasting blood that day? Because Sam had gotten distracted and wasn’t there to prevent it? Because Tubbo had kept his distance from him in the past few weeks and wasn’t there to point out that visiting the man who’d ruined his life was a monumentally stupid idea?
It all felt so… unfair.
So, even after Sam tried to chase him away, he waited. And waited. And waited… until he remembered the reason why they hadn’t killed Dream when the whole server had gathered together to take him down. Tommy’s murderer supposedly had a way to bring him back. He hadn’t proven the existence of his powers yet, so Tubbo didn’t know how much he believed it. However, in the small chance that it was true… he couldn’t let him get to his best friend first.

Summary
Sitting on his bench after defeating Dream and talking to the incorporeal voice of his dead brother felt unreal for Tommy. It was the first moment of peace he’d gotten in years. The first time, he was allowed to just exist without the looming threat of an authority figure with malicious intent hovering over his shoulder. And he was happy to share it with Tubbo, despite everything that had happened between them.
He would have been happier about it had his friend not kept trying to bring up his exile when he would rather have done anything not to think about it.
“I just want to apologize. Please” Tubbo repeated for the third or fourth time that evening. Tommy had purposefully gotten distracted at some point and lost count. In his defense, the view from that bench of trees gently swaying in the evening breeze with the sunset behind them was mesmerizing. He wasn’t paying attention to that either that day, but he was sure that, had he been made to feel less uncomfortable, he would have liked to take the time to appreciate it.

“You’re not my Tubbo” Tommy stated after a couple of beats of silence. “I can tell. You’re not looking at me as if you’ve just seen a ghost, the way he does after dreaming about my death. You’re hurt, pissed, and a little bit scared. And only two of those are emotions my Tubbo allows himself to feel”. They’d spent so much time apart that Tubbo had forgotten how observant his old best friend could be.
As much as it had been only a ridiculous theory that he’d barely considered, having ended up in a parallel universe where everything was upside down did explain a lot. As a matter of fact, he would have even dared to say that it explained everything.

Before he could allow the guilt to fully consume him, Phil skidded to a halt beside the stasis chamber, wasting no time in slamming down the spruce trapdoor hovering above the ender pearl and watching as it shattered into a million tiny, fragile pieces with a sound akin to the glass of a window breaking apart. He showed no reaction to the loudness of the sound despite the suddenness of it, simply staring transfixed with baited breath as a figure materialized before him.

Tommy crouched down on the ground, his back to Tubbo. “Climb up” he ordered. And, while he might have been Tubbo’s superior, that was such an incredibly stupid idea that he elected to ignore him. His friend was not pleased with that decision. He wiggled his fingers in Tubbo’s direction as if trying to get a cat’s attention. “Come on, Tubso, I don’t got all day”.
Still, he stubbornly remained right where he was on the ground. He even crossed his arms for good measure.
“Oh, come on! Why are you being so difficult?!” Tommy whined, now sounding like he was the one who could barely stand.
Looking at him shaking even as he was kneeling, maybe that wasn’t far off the truth. After all, even if he did have an arguably less physically demanding day than Tubbo, looking after a toddler and having to deal with Dream for however short their encounter had been could not have been easy. Even if he wasn’t as tired, there was no way he wasn’t entirely emotionally drained.
Maybe Tubbo shouldn’t have been trying to make his life even harder. But that day, he was feeling petty.

Summary
Tommy hasn't had the easiest life, not when he ends up estranged from his brother and being raised by his other brother after his father left. Somehow, he keeps losing the most important people in his life, again and again and again. It gets to the point where he starts to wonder if the common denominator might just be the reason why, yet somehow that doesn't make it any easier.
Through growing up, starting a country, watching it burn to the ground, and being exiled Tommy has found himself losing everyone important to him. When he ends up in a frozen tundra, faced with an estranged brother he assumes wants him dead, the last thing Tommy expects is kindness.
Lucky for him, Tommy hasn't been quite as abandoned as he thought he was.

"Im… I'm retiring, and… Moving to the arctic. Hence… Yeah…" Techno trailed off, nerves bubbling away in his gut uncomfortably.
"do…do you want to join me? Building a house in the arctic?" Techno asked, eyes on his friend, taking in every little shift and every little sound.
They nodded, clinging a little tighter to Techno, leaning further into his touch, as if they did not want to pull away at all. Techno guided them to stand upright, aware they weren't as suited to be in extreme cold like he was, wanting to get started on that cabin as soon as he could.
As they clung to him while walking, Techno let his mind wander to the cabin he intended to build. For him and his friend, it would be a decent sized cabin, bigger than intended, but that was fine. It was for his dear friend, after all.
He couldn't wait to live with them.
