Quickly, he proposes an exchange. He will stay as the beast's captive, so Belle can return to her father.He doesn't have the purest of intentions, though.

Amanda could feel the moment when it happened. It struck her through her core like a lacerating bolt of ice-cold lightning, and the aftershocks have left her limbs still trembling in their wake. Staring out the precisely perfected, green-tinted window of her room in the Royal Palace of Oz, she can hear the noise from even up here. The shouts, the screams, the rejoicing in the streets. She can see confetti being thrown, bottles of bubbly drinks being popped and shared, and hundreds of thousands of smiling faces, all celebrating as one.
He was right, she thinks bitterly. She did bring them together.

Many short, mostly discontinuous scenes encompassing before, during and after the canonical series. The scenes are arranged into themed acts, and in chronological order. Before the story will be a preface, detailing the layout of the story, and a skeleton timeline.
This is essentially a story about losing control. It is Catra-centric, bittersweet in general tone, and there are consistently several narrative threads running at once (i.e. keeping track of the story requires some brain space).
I would say it's a 20:70:10 split of fluff : angst : other.

Not to worry, though! They've managed to find each other at least, and now they can help Sir Hastings topple the corrupted, gatekeeping, gaslighting, manipulative energy vaccume that is the British magical community. Even better, it turns out that they're better at sensing magic than most, who would have thought? No wider implication there, surely.
(Timeline-wise, James and Lily wake up around 1993, circa Sirius Black's escape from Azkaban and the beginning of Remus Lupin's escapades as Hogwarts professor.)
