“What are you doing?” Harry follows Louis up the stairs and into his bedroom.
“We’re going on a little trip,” Louis says. He opens the closet door of Harry’s master bedroom and retrieves a duffle bag.
Harry scoffs. “I’m not going anywhere.”
Louis stops as he’s about to open one of Harry’s drawers. “Look Harry, I know you’ve been going through some shit, but we’re done watching you waste yourself away. So, we’re going on a trip. Now, either you help me pack your bag and come with me or I’m going to call your mum and have her come stay with you.”
Harry gasps, “You wouldn’t.”
Now Louis is the one that crosses his arms. “Try me.” His voice is firm and Harry knows he isn’t playing around. Harry weighs out his options. He can pack, go on whatever trip Louis has planned and risk running into some very awkward situations with his bandmate and ex-boyfriend, or he can refuse and let Louis call his mum. His mum will definitely come over, make Harry talk about his divorce, his feelings, and everything ...and shit. Harry doesn’t want that.

“Wait.” Louis takes a glance and sees his daughter struggle to open her bag, strained thanks to the safety belt. “Aha!” She shouts when she finally finds the wrinkled paper. She clears her throat dramatically. “My mama is cool, because one day he took me to the pool. My mama is beautiful, and I feel grateful. My mama is pocketful, because his pocket is always full.”
Louis ruffles Chrys’ hair making the green-eyed kid groan and swat his hand away.
“You think I’m beautiful?” Louis’ voice is soft.
“Well, duh. You’re the most beautiful person on Earth, mama.” She pauses for a moment. “Although, Uncle Zayn is beautiful too. But, still, you’re the most beautifulest.” She grins.
Louis’ heart clenches at that. Not because she just said he’s the most beautiful person in the world. But, because of the way she said it. Awfully similar to the other person who has the same green eyes as her. And the way she grins after that, identical.

Louis rattled through the order – a couple loaves of different breads, some pastries, and a dozen cookies. There was a niggling sensation in the back of his mind that he was forgetting something, but he couldn’t think what it might be.
Harry nodded along as Louis spoke, starting to flit around the shop and gather things together. “Is that all?” he asked when Louis finished. “No muffins this week?”
That was it! “Oh yes, a half-dozen of the pumpkin and blueberry,” Louis said. “Almost forgot, thanks.”
“Of course,” Harry said, packing the muffins into a box. “I remember all my regular customers’ favorites. Your mother has good taste.”
Louis smiled. “She usually does,” he says. “I look forward to trying your goods myself, and finding my own favorites.”

“Five more minutes, Louis Tomlinson, you’ve got five more minutes.” He mutters to himself, standing to his full height for a second just to give his toes a break from holding all of his weight. He squats back down, pulls his jacket tighter around himself and takes another look around.
Three minutes later, the headlights of a car Harry knows far too well shine into his face. “About fucking time,” He seethes quietly, standing up and walking around the fence to the car. “About fucking time!” He yells to the person in the car, sitting alone behind the wheel.
Louis leans the top half of his body out of his car window. “Shut the fuck up,” He whisper-yells, beckoning Harry over to the passenger seat. “You dick, why are you shouting?” Louis asks as Harry settles himself in the seat.
