The Relationship Between Online Readers & Writers by Penguiduck
Fandoms: Original Work, Essays - Fandom, tutorials, Compositions
30 Nov 2020
Tags
Summary
We are a community. There is plenty of room for writers, readers, and everyone in between.
You’re a part of it, regardless of what role you play. You may be a reader, a writer, a reader who occasionally writes when the muse bubbles up, or a writer who occasionally reads when you need a break from the keyboard.
In this composition, I will discuss the relationship between online readers and writers. I would like to provide some perspective from both sides and make proposals for behavioral changes that I think could benefit the community and enrich this special relationship. We as human beings have this desire to feel appreciated, and when we do, we perform as the best versions of ourselves.

Niniejszy poradnik to oczywiście jedynie moje spojrzenie, rozumienie, wnioski. Napisałem go by udostępnić je zainteresowanym i poprzez to potencjalnie pomóc tym, którzy chcą pisać sceny erotyczne [lepiej], bardziej spełniać się w owym zakresie pisarstwa — czy to by zawrzeć trochę smaczku w opowiadaniu, czy to dla własnej przyjemności.

Экологичная продуктивность и писательский блок: как договориться с собой. by Ranavern

Summary

Most general writing advice is, at best, functional but woefully limited, and, at worst, too narrow and more reflective of personal predilections or biases to be of any use. It does not help that so little people have the vocabulary to analyse prose on a technical level.
Rather than provide literary prescriptions, I shall instead proffer this personal repository of prose analyses of various writers that I think are pretty neat. This is both a writer's notebook and a mini-course in prose.
One needs no gurus to advise you on how to write. The best way is, always, to turn to the works of those you deem masters, judge what is on the page, and apply it to your own style.

Rather than provide literary prescriptions, I shall instead proffer this personal repository of literary analyses of various writers that I think are pretty neat. This is both a writer's notebook and a mini-course in prose, and perhaps poetry and drama too.

If you take a Carmilla story and crack it open to see what lies at the core, you're going to find a love story. There are certain pieces that make a story Hollstein's love story and others we can throw away. Today, Laura runs a bakery and Carmilla is the firefighter who won't stop coming by the shop to annoy her.
It's amazing to watch annoyance turn to love.

Summary
Writing a Teen Wolf fic where Derek takes this bloke Stiles to see a film in the cinema before taking him back to his flat to meet his mum? Writing a Sherlock fic where Sherlock meets John at college while studying for a big test so they both get good grades?
If so, you need this Britspeak to Amerispeak directory. I hope to keep adding to it, so feel free to put any instances in the comments that I'm missing so far. This is meant to be GENERAL advice, obviously there will be exceptions, but if you're a Brit writing American characters or an American writing British characters, take a cruise through and see if there are any word usage or spelling errors you might have made! I tagged the fandoms I'm in, but of course it could be helpful to any American or British fandom.
Note: I am American, born and raised, and have lived in almost every part of this country. Feel free to add your comments and suggestions, but if you start it with "Actually, Americans would never..." just know that I am laughing at you right now.

While I've included the actual coding in bold and italic once you click "Hide Creator's Style", there's a more detailed explanation here.
EDIT 6/28/17: The third chapter now shows how to use anchor links as an index/table of contents.
