    Summary

'Percy had long stopped muttering apologies every time his opponent burst into dust. Nero had succeeded in that, at least. The problem: he was still ridiculously ethical. Probably the fault of that horrendous Sally Jackson. Nero should have known the boy would be trouble that moment he found out that the mother was a nice lady who worked at a candy shop.'

    Or:

Nero, the primary antagonist of the Trials of Apollo series, was notorious for collecting heroes like Meg McCaffrey and brainwashing them into joining his small army of adopted demigod children. I found it a little absurd that while wandering around Manhattan and searching for soldiers, it didn't occur to him to track down and train Percy Jackson, potentially the most powerful half-blood in the city.

So, here is a completely canon-compliant (I swear that it is, you'll see) fic in which Percy spends two years at the Tower of Nero as a child.

    day 22: leap of faith

Frank has always dreamed of meeting Lord Apollo. It would be perfect- and it would end with Frank being recognized as Apollo's beloved son, of course, giving him the dad Frank had always wanted.
This dream was crushed by learning he was looking for a father in all the wrong places. (Or was he?)

In the end, what does one actually do when they meet their heroes?
(Answer: panic and make a fool of yourself and also somehow get adopted along the way)

To Daphne, Apollo looked like a crazy person.

To Hyacinthus, Apollo looked like a sunbeam.

To Commodus, Apollo looked like a trophy.

To Daphne, Lester looked like a frightened kid.

To Hyacinthus, Lester looked like a brave child

To Commodus, Lester was a pathetic echo of Apollo.

    Apollo had always liked bracelets.
Ever since they’d been invented, he’d always thought they were a charming accessory. Something to show off your personality. Something easy to see.
    They also hid the scars.
