Summary

Summary
Maybe if Phainon was any other designation, he would have tried to shoot his shot. If he was an omega, their secondary genders would have been complementary; the "perfect" bonded pair that media love so much. If he was an alpha, it might take more work, especially around their rut cycles, but realistically it would still make for an interesting, even electrifying dynamic. But a beta?
Well, he can't imagine he has anything to offer that someone like Mydei would actually want.

“I never asked you to.” The frustration in the oryx’s voice is evident, but he doesn’t let it linger, smoothly shifting into a more charming tone. “Give in, Mydei. Give in, and give it all to me—I’m the only one who can handle all of you and your desires at its fiercest. Isn’t that one of the many reasons why you chose me as your mate?”
With those words, the last fragile thread of the rut-stricken alpha’s restraint finally snaps. He surges forward with a snarl, pinning his omega down by the wrists. Phainon whimpered softly beneath him, arching instinctively, offering everything.
The scent of slick rushed up into the air—warm, desperate, utterly submissive—and Mydei’s mouth watered with need.
