“I know you’re there!” he cried as a little dog in a yard across the gravel road barked up a frenzy at him. He turned and growled at the stupid little mutt, “Shut up! I know she’s in there. She’s with him…”
He was certain that she was in that stupid trailer doing it with the freak. And no, this wasn’t some drunken hallucination. The bottle of Jim Beam just gave him the courage to actually do something about it no matter what dog that kept barking at him.
That dog didn’t know shit, so he roared back, “Because of the way she looks at him and the way he looks at her! And all the excuses she makes and… and… Damn it, I’ve gotta do something about it!”
