As Ainosuke fixes the watch on his wrist, his nose catches an unexpected scent. Curious, he brings it closer to his face and breathes deep. There’s a cologne lingering on the leather, faint but unmistakable: it smells like a garden after the rain. Only there's something else underneath, a hidden depth that dances on the edges of his senses, just out of reach. Ainosuke has never smelled anything like it. It could have only come from the watchmaker’s wrist. Ainosuke closes his eyes and tries to reconcile the image. Their correspondence together had been bland, almost colourless. It seems at odds with the watch sitting against his wrist, beautifully warm and cared for.
