Summary
You always expect these kinds of phone calls to come at a dramatic time of day – five in the morning, maybe, or ten o’clock at night. If your life is fictional, you get the call that your best friend has been hit by a car just after midnight and the text that you’ve been dumped by your one true love when you’re brushing your teeth in the morning. That way, it’s perfect timing for you to dramatically grip the sink and stare grimly at yourself in a toothpaste-splattered mirror.
I live in the real world, though, so I get the call that they’ve found Nightingale at two thirty-seven on a drizzly Thursday afternoon.

Summary
And after three months of therapy, nightmares, and another dash of PTSD to add to his pre-existing pile of PTSD, Thomas Nightingale takes my hand in the drawing room after dinner and says, his voice rough with meaning, “Would you like to come to bed with me, Peter?”
“Uh,” I say, which is in hindsight pretty stupid. “To sleep?”
“No,” he answers, his lips ticking upwards at the edges in a familiar amused smirk. “Not to sleep.”

In researching his Ig Nobel acceptance speech, [Francis Fesmire] told New Scientist that he found a treatment sure to be more popular with hiccup patients. “An orgasm results in incredible stimulation of the vagus nerve. From now on, I will be recommending sex--culminating with orgasm--as the cure-all for intractable hiccups.”
