Morro drew closer, the tension in the air thick enough to cut with a knife. “Are you ready to prove that being alive is more important than being a ninja?”
Cole released his breath with a nod. Funny, but not really, how being dead meant that he felt nothing, that it didn’t provide any relief. “If that’s what it takes.”
Morro grinned darkly. "Good. Blood is thicker than water, but both can kill a ghost. Let’s see if you can destroy that part of your past, or if it’ll end up destroying you."
