While you were telling yourself nice stories about how the Eleanor Shellstrop I know, and that I personally chose for this experiment, managed to leap beyond the stratosphere of selfishness and greed that characterized her, her actions and words were causing difficulties for everyone. You have no idea how many antacids Chidi had to take just because of your existence. Or how betrayed Tahani felt because of those little secrets she had to keep just to maintain your cover. Even Jason was terrified at the thought of lying about himself for eternity, maybe Janet managed to make him understand what eternity really meant, in fact. Everyone knew there were limits, even in paradise. Everyone, except you. How far would you have gone, if you hadn't rebooted, to hurt me, to get by, to cleanse your conscience? How far, to win?"

Set during the Pick-A-Pet Day in the reboot shown in the episode The Worst Possible Use of Free Will. While Eleanor and Chidi are bonding over her lost lizard, Janet and Jason get a few stolen moments together.

Janet had never been to Earth. The closest thing she had to a home was her Void. But she was a being made of knowledge, and every day, knowledge from Earth inhabited more space inside her. Earthlings kept doing and creating and thinking things, and Janet soaked up knowledge of each of them and the thousands of connections that existed between incidents. She did the same for her Good Place neighborhood, but there were only 322 humans to keep track of, which did place some hard limits on the sheer number of shenanigans and more dignified events to record. If all went well, she would go on absorbing knowledge until the end of time and never reach a limit. But Janets didn’t always perfectly conform to the theoretical specifications; otherwise, there would be no need for a reboot or marbleization functions. If that happened to her, another Janet would step in to soak up the overflow.She hoped it would be Disco Janet. She was fun.
