[Steve catches her wrist, almost regretfully, lightening his hold as soon as he does. “Stay,” his voice comes out barely a whisper. He doesn’t know why he said it, but he feels his chest tighten, so he continues, “please.” He’s suddenly aware of the shallow air passing through each breath he takes, his heart pumping loud. He doesn’t know whether he should tighten his hold or let go and bury himself under the sheets. Thankfully, before he has to choose, she gives him a slow nod, lowering the kit and towel onto the ground next to her. He sighs with relief.
Natasha sinks into the bed next to Steve, creating that extra weight he hadn’t felt in years. “Turn off the lights.” she says. Her only command for the rest of the night.]

Summary
Peter Parker hated his life.
That morning at school, their teacher had announced that they were going on a field trip. She hadn't said where they were going, just that it was going to be super exciting, and they didn't want to miss it.
Of course, that was why Peter was being forced to miss it.
He had missed too many homework due dates - it wasn't his fault he had been so busy Spidermanning that he had forgotten to put them in his bag - and apparently the punishment for that was missing the trip.
