"”You said its hungry!” Ben smiled at the little fuzz ball, coaxing the little saucer he stuck some steak on towards the kitten. What his drunken mind decided was a kitten sized portion was more like a solid half of the cut, so the black kitten was now delightedly attacking a hunk of chilled raw meat that was approximately their own size.
“It’s a kitten!” Rey sighed in frustrated exhaustion, peeling a lid off a can of kitten wet food before she started going through Ben’s kitchen with clear annoyance in her movements until she found a low-sided bowl.
”Cats eat meat. They’re descended from tigers.” He stroked the kitten’s head, enjoying a surge of ridiculous pride at how fiercely this little ball of fluff was going at the meat. Clawing at the steak with their tiny claws and making a sound that seemed a mix between growling and purring."Series
