“Hey! Weren’t you taught to knock?”
England counted to ten. Then a hundred. Then three hundred. He got to the point of losing count, but the outburst was still there, waiting to come out.
America’s shirt was unbuttoned and there was a noticeable hickey on his neck. Russia had the decency to look embarrassed, even though he suspected the blush was due to something else.
(America could be an asshole, but he was England's kid first, and the englishman isn't ready to see him have a relationship!)

Summary
Alfred wasn’t exactly sure when he first noticed Ivan.
Maybe it was during their first group project. When their Professor paired them off randomly, sending Alfred, grinning wide and overconfident, toward a stoic figure in the back of the classroom.
Ivan.
Ivan Braginsky.
Alfred hadn’t thought much of it at first. Ivan barely spoke above a whisper, his voice low and careful, his Russian accent curling every word into something oddly soothing.
Alfred just found it annoying. How calm he always was, how slow he moved, how he’d sometimes glance over at Alfred without saying a word.
But after a few late-night meetings at the library, something shifted.
Alfred couldn’t put his finger on it.

Summary
Standing side by side, Alfred could see him just a little better.
The groom was large, not humanly so, and as the priest rambled on and on, Alfred finally took in just what he was seeing. He had been told fairytales when he was just a very little boy that described the Lindworm in front of him. As a child, his mind thought of all sorts of terrifying forms: the lizard would be triple his height, spit venom, and rattle off riddles like a sphinx and eat you if you’d gotten them wrong. To a child, the Lindworm was like a lesser dragon, something born from pure wilderness and attracted to misery, which would always inevitably bring it to human settlement.
It was all so stupidly wrong in the face of his groom it was nearly laughable.Bookmarked by DarknessSindevil
