“My claim to Camelot’s throne,” Uther threw back, face growing more red as Arthur looked between his parents in utter bewilderment. Merlin didn’t blame him. He had envisioned Uther and Ygraine’s love story to be more… well, less based in war and battles.
Ygraine’s eyes narrowed as she grabbed a goblet of wine and threw it in Uther’s face. A few of the guards shifted, but Uther only raised a hand to pause them, spitting out the wine with furious eyes.
“You,” Ygraine said coldly. “Are unworthy to sit upon a stool, let alone a throne.”
From a few feet away, Balinor scoffed as he sipped from his own goblet. “I kind of like having her as a hostage, Uther. She livens up the place.”

Keith doesn’t usually spend much time with them outside of training and missions — Hunk, Pidge, and Lance had talked about it before. It’s been months since they left earth, and Hunk doesn’t think he’s ever seen Keith as excited as he is now, his face lighting up at the sight of a simple video game.
Hunk's brows furrowed. He’d always just assumed that Keith preferred to ignore their gaming nights, but now that he thinks about it… did he ever actually say he didn’t want to come? Did they ever invite him?
Oh, that wouldn’t do. Hunk would remedy this.

The noise that falls out of Lance’s mouth is a mix between a snort and a scoff, and it comes totally unbidden. Two years ago, he would’ve been mortified to be caught making such an unattractive sound in Keith’s company. But, two years ago, he thought he and Keith were becoming something.
And approximately ten months ago, when they fell into bed together, he was certain they would. He’d asked, even. Tangled up in bedsheets, heart full and warm and satisfied, he’d asked Keith if they were something.
The next day, when he woke up alone with a hastily-written sticky note on the bathroom mirror and an alert in the group that the Blade had summoned Keith in the middle of the night, Lance got his answer.
He’d been mistaken, obviously.
