Summary
t's been an unnerving constant since her miraculous arrival to the human realm. Without fail, all it took was to look at herself in the mirror for more than a second for it to make itself known. "Special" it whispered. "Exotic" its hollow compliments only dug a wider and deeper pit within her mind. "Unique" and each time all she could do was listen... "Fragile"
For months, those words persistently rang deeply within her. Reminder after reminder of the utter misery of her existence. She was alive and was beyond thankful for every day and night she spent alongside Camila, Luz, and the others. But nothing would come close to overshadow the fact... she was the last of them all.
Once her time came, the basilisks would go extinct again, and all was thanks to her cowardice. The same cowardice that granted her this life in the first place.
All she asked for was guidance, for someone who understood her crisis and was willing to offer a helping hand and meaningful words, but as always all she could find was...

Summary
What if, under the right circumstances, those who came before Hunter figured something they knew couldn't remain a secret any longer, and most importantly, they wouldn't be able to share it with the world before it was too late? So, they left a single little thing behind in hopes that one day, their predecessors would discover what they too came across, and hopefully, put a stop to all.
Or, Hunter finds Vee and together run away to survive by any means necessary.
