Wars groaned, waking up slowly. He had to fight to consciousness, it was like swimming through molasses, slow, difficult and not fun. He wished he could just fall back asleep, he certainly felt tired enough. But the sharp aching in his head didn’t let him. He hovered there for a while, not quite awake but not quite asleep either. It was only when a harsh bang from somewhere outside jolted him fully awake, that he finally took stock of where he was.

The captain’s quiet words cause goosebumps to prickle up over Mask's arms. A coldness creeps into his body. “He saved our lives,” he snaps, shoulders drawing up.
The captain sighs. “I just… you don’t seem like yourself. Immediately after. It drains you.”
Mask can feel the captain's eyes on him, but he won't meet that gaze. “So?” Mask knows he’s being defensive. Irrational. Like a child. And that thought rankles even more. “I do what needs to be done.”

That’s Tune’s voice. Link is—the portal took him to—
“Tune,” Link gasps. His voice comes out quiet, his throat torn up and nose clogged from crying, so he coughs, then tries again. “Tune!”
“Y’all heard that, right?” the first voice asks. “Hey—Wind! Time!”
Link doesn’t know why the person is yelling about the wind and time, and he doesn’t care. Instead, he focuses on the cracking of branches underfoot and the rustling of leaves being brushed aside.

At first glance the wrecked realm was reminiscent of Wild’s Hyrule, but it felt different. For Time, it was a glimpse of familiarity. As he gazed around him once more, he saw the damage for what it was: War. He turned to the figure standing alone in the middle of the open gate. His once tense shoulders were now drooped in relief, his scarf flapping happily behind him. When he turned to face them his eyes were lit with excitement and a beaming smile graced his face.
"Everyone, welcome to my Hyrule!” he exclaimed, waving dramatically behind him.
After a trip to Warriors' Hyrule, the Links find out a little more about their Captain's journey - particularly about a certain guardian of time...
