Summary

On the outside, Caitlyn has dropped out of law school to try and find herself, and ends up also signing up for the program on a whim. When they are paired up and begin writing letters, each of them finds exactly what they need.

Summary
Caitlyn, a lonely teenager who has been groomed to become the heir of House Kiramman since childhood, gets lost on a trip with Jayce in the Undercity and meets Vi, a child of the Trenches.
Vi helps her back to the Upper City, and although she makes it clear that she doesn't think much of the Pilties, as she calls Caitlyn and all surface-level people, young Caitlyn does everything she can to see her again.
Eventually, a tender bond of friendship forms between them, and Vi shows the naive Caitlyn that the Undercity is very different from what she was taught on the Surface from an early age.
But when a tragedy occurs that separates them, Caitlyn decides to join the Enforcers and change things for the better in the Undercity.
Will she and Vi ever see each other again?
