Soap stood in front of Ghost's door for a few minutes before it swung open suddenly and Soap was met with the familiar worn balaclava that Ghost usually wore at night.
“Bloody Jesus Soap, you're covered in blood!”
Ghost's voice was hushed but worried as he tugged Soap into his room and flicked the lights on. Soap couldn't bring himself to talk, he couldn't. Ghost stood there, assessing for a moment before gently taking Soap’s hand and guiding him to the bathroom.

Soap returns from a mission covered in blood, unsure of what to do, and ends up in front of Ghost's door.

What he's not expecting is for Soap to practically slam himself down on the bench beside him and ask, without pause, "Hey, LT, share one of those with me?"

Because he needed Soap. Every bone in his body needed Soap. He had somehow found a way to lure himself into Simon’s cold heart and there was nothing he could do about it now. Soap belonged there, it would never be whole again without him, and he had learned to accept that.
“Hey, Si, you okay?”
It was spoken so softly against his shoulder that a new set of tears flooded his eyes, but he blinked them away and swallowed. Then he smiled a little. “Jeg tror det.”
Soap pulled back, which Simon hated even if he expected it, and looked at him with narrowed eyes. They softened a little when they landed on his tear streaked cheeks, but his expression was still of mild frustration. “‘Speak English’”, he quoted, imitating his accent, and Simon snorted.
