Red hair splayed out along her shoulders, held aloft by unseen forces, as if trying to support the immense burden that she carried. It was long and wavy, and a blunt fringe cut clear across the Hauler’s forehead. The face was no likeness, its features replaced with a blank visage with a single dark hole like an eye. Finally, the lampmaster laid the palm of its luminescent hand on her ankle and pushed up the hem of her skirt. Clea exhaled, her shoulders finally relaxing a bit as it touched her. The skin wasn’t human, but it was smooth and pleasantly cool on her own. Another hand lifted her hem from her other shin, and a third braced her ankle against the chaise. Clea watched a fourth hand extend between her legs and tuck two long fingers beneath the hem of her underwear. It started to tug them down, but her thighs were already spread too wide to make that simple.
“Fucking rip them off!” she snapped. “It’s not like they’re even real anyway, c’mon!”
