Dean held his ground as the Darkness reached her hand up, hovering it just above the side of his face. She tilted her head. "You're different than I expected."
His eyes turned black as he shuddered. Even without touch, he felt the side of his face go numb just by the proximity. There was a heat rising in his body, a feeling similar to the mark. He risked a quick glance down to confirm it was still absent.
"Thank you."
He snapped his gaze back to her. "For what-"
"For releasing me from bondage."

“You really do have a soulmate.” Arthur said with a frown and Merlin shrugged. “That might be a problem.”
"Can’t stand anybody but you having a shot a true love?” Merlin asked flatly. Arthur wrinkled his nose.
“No, idiot. Spirit animals don’t get along unless they belong to their soulmate. If my bird sees your hideous lion-“
“He is quite dashing, thank you. Besides, your bloody bird is too loud-“
“My bird is just trying to do me a favor and tune you out!” Arthur snapped and took a long breath “The point is they can’t be around each other. So unless you want Emmy to pluck out this lion’s eyes I suggest you tell him to bugger off.” He snapped. Merlin was inclined to tell Arthur to bugger off himself, but was immediately distracted by one word.
“Emmy?” He repeated and smiled. “You did name him.”

It was…bright. After spending so long in a place filled with dark reds and low lighting, the only thing he remembered was pain. it was strange to see the world filled with bright colors and sunshine. It was pure. And it made his skin crawl.
It was time to leave. Sooner or later someone would find them, and he didn’t want to be here when they did.
“Alright then.” He smiled as he cleaned his blade off one of the clothes of one of the bodies on the floor. “Looks like I’m going to California. Can’t wait.”
